There is a story many years ago of an elementary teacher. Her name was Mrs. Thompson. And as she stood in front of her 5th grade class on the very first day of school, she told the children a lie. Like most teachers, she looked at her students and said that she loved them all the same. But that was imsible, because there in the front row, slumped in his seat, was a little boy named Teddy.
Mrs. Thompson had watched Teddy the year before and notd that he didn't play well with the other children, that his clothes were messy and that he constantly needed a bath. And Teddy could be unpleasant.
At the school where Mrs. Thompson taught, she was required to review each child’s past records and she put Teddy's off until last. Howr, when she reviewed his file, she was in for a surprise.
Teddy's first grade teacher wrote, "Teddy is a bright child with a ready laugh. He does his work neatly and has good manners...he is a joy to be around."
His second grade teacher wrote, "Teddy is an excellent student, well-liked by his clasates, but he is troubled because his mother has a terminal illness and life at home must be a struggle."
His third grade teacher wrote, "His mother's death has been hard on him. He tries to do his best but his father doesn't show much interest and his home life will soon affect him if some steps aren't taken."
Teddy's fourth grade teacher wrote, "Teddy is withdrawn and doesn't show much interest in school. He doesn't he many friends and sometimes sleeps in class."
By now, Mrs. Thompson realized the problem and she was ashamed of herself. She felt n worse when her students brought her Christmas presents, wrapped in beautiful ribbons and bright , except for Teddy's. His present was clumsily wrapped in the hey, brown that he got from a grocery bag. Mrs. Thompson took pains to open it in the middle of the other presents. Some of the children started to laugh when she found a rhinestone bracelet with some of the stones missing and a bottle that was one quarter full of perfume. She stifled the children's laughter when she exclaimed how pretty the bracelet was, putting it on, and dabbing some of the perfume on her wrist.
Teddy stayed after school that day just long enough to say, "Mrs. Thompson, today you elled just like my Mom used to." After the children left she cried for at least an hour.
On that very day, she quit teaching reading, and writing, and arithmetic. Instead, she began to teach children.
Mrs. Thompson paid particular attention to Teddy. As she worked with him, his mind seemed to come alive. The more she encouraged him, the faster he responded. By the end of the year, Teddy had become one of the artest children in the class and, despite her lie that she would love all the children same, Teddy became one of her "teacher's pets."
A year later, she found a note under her door, from Teddy, ling her that she was still the best teacher he r had in his whole life.
Six years went by before she got another note from Teddy. He then wrote that he had finished high school, second in his class, and she was still the best teacher he r had in his whole life.
Four years after that, she got another letter, saying that while things had been tough at times, he'd stayed in school, had stuck with it, and would soon graduate from college with the highest of honors. He assured Mrs. Thompson that she was still the best and forite teacher he r had in his whole life.
Then four more years passed and yet another letter came. This time he explained that after he got his bachelor's degree, he decided to go a little further. The letter explained that she was still the best and forite teacher he r had. But now his name was a little longer. The letter was signed, Theodore F. Stoller, M.D.
The story doesn't end there. You see, there was yet another letter that spring. Teddy said he'd met this girl and was going to be married. He explained that his father had died a couple of years ago and he was wondering if Mrs. Thompson might agree to sit in the place at the wedding that was usually reserved for the mother of the groom.
Of course, Mrs. Thompson, did. And guess what? She wore that bracelet, the one with sral rhinestones missing. And she made sure she was wearing the perfume that Teddy remembered his mother wearing on their last Christmas toger.
They hugged each other, and Teddy whispered in Mrs. Thompson's ear, "Thank you, Mrs. Thompson, for believing in me. Thank you so much for me feel important and showing me that I could make a difference."
Mrs. Thompson, with tears in her eyes, whispered back. She said, "Teddy, you he it all wrong. You were the one who taught me that I could make a difference. I didn't know how to teach until I met you."
After 21 years of marriage, I discovered a new way of keeping alive the spark of love. I started to go out with another woman. It was really my wife's idea.
"I know that you love her," she said one day, taking me by surprise. "But I love YOU," I protested. "I know, but you also love her."
The other woman that my wife wanted me to visit was my mother, who has been a widow for 19 years, but the demands of my work and my three children had made it sible to visit her only occasionally. That night I called to invite her to go out for dinner and a movie. “What’s wrong, are you well?” she asked. My mother is the type of woman who suspects that a late night call or a surprise invitation is a sign of bad news. "I thought that it would be pleasant to pass some time with you," I responded. "Just the two of us." She thought about it for a moment, then said, "I would like that very much."
That Friday after work, as I drove over to pick her up I was a bit nervous. When I arrived at her house, I notd that she, too, seemed to be nervous about our date. She waited in the door with her coat on. She had ced her hair and was wearing the dress that she had worn to celebrate her last wedding anniversary. She iled from a face that was as radiant as an angel's. "I told my friends that I was going to go out with my son, and they were impressed," she said, as she got into the car. "They can't wait to hear about our meeting."
We went to a restaurant that, although not elegant, was very n and cozy. My mother took my arm as if she were the First Lady. After we sat down, I had to read the menu. Her eyes could only read large print. Half way through the entries, I lifted my eyes and saw Mom sitting there staring at me. A nostalgic ile was on her lips. "It was I who used to he to read the menu when you were all," she said. "Then it's time that yoelax and let me return the for," I responded.
During the dinner we had an agreeable conversation — nothing extraordinary — but catching up on recent nts of each other's life. We talked so much that we missed the movie. As we arrived at her house later, she said, "I'll go out with you again, but only if you let me invite you." I agreed.
"How was your dinner date?" asked my wife when I got home. "Very n. Much more so than I could he imagined," I answered.
A few days later my mother died of a massive heart attack. It happened so suddenly that I didn't he a chance to do anything for her. At that moment I understood the importance of saying in time: "I LOVE YOU" and to give our loved ones the time that they deserve. Nothing in life is more important than your family. Give them the time they deserve, because these things cannot be put off till "some other time".

Try to Be a Good Student
Perhaps it is the dream of ryone to be a good student at school but quite a few students feel at a loss on how to make it. In my opinion it is rather easy if you can act on the following points.First of all make full use of your time and work hard. Don’t put off till tomorrow what should be done today as time past will nr e back. The fast dloping society requires adequate knowledge which presses us to spare no efforts to study. Of course your hard work will be rewarded one day.
Secondly use your own head and present your point of view. Credulous轻信的attitude will only make you take anything for granted. With your own judgment you will be able to l right from wrong and set up your own theory.
Thirdly set aside enough time for relaxation entertainment etc. don’t ignore the harm of all work and no play. Proper sports will build up your body and improve the efficiency of your studying. To be a good student is easier said than done for it needs a student’s consistent efforts. But nothing is difficult to a man if he puts his heart into it.

Time Is Money
“Time is money.” This saying means that time is very valuable.
But time is more valuable than money. The money we he lost can be gained again but the time we he wasted cannot be regained. Moreover sometimes persons can exist without money but nothing can be done without time just as no one can live without air. Despite being so valuable, time is often neglected by men. Since time is an invisible thing men often waste their time unconsciously无意地. Without anything to do they may gossip from morning till night.
Man can live only at most to about 100 years. It seems fairly long but in fact it is rather short. We often say “How quickly time flies!” How many things can a man acplish in such a short period? Hence we should use the valuable time properly to do our work. We will race with it. We will study and work hard. Nr waste a little bit of it.

To live in the city one n can’t get enough room for living.
To live in the country is another thing. You can breathe the fresh air cheerfully own a spacious house with a big backyard and relax yourself in quietness. 7 ways to move beyond procrastination
Almost ryone is held down by what some call “the silent killer”. Procrastination strikes rywhere. We all want to oid the pain or disfort of doing soming we feel is boring, stupid, pointless, hard, plicated, risky, sibly really emotionally painful and so on.
But n though we know that we will he to do it ntually and that we’re just deluding ourselves we still put it of. Often with reasons we know deep down are weak and we really just made up. We get stuck in a vicious circle of doing too little of both what we want and what we don’t want. We get stuck. Here are 7 ways to squash procrastination and move forward.
1. Recognize that there is more pain in procrastinating than not
If you he procrastinated a lot like me you might he discovered that:
You procrastinate to oid doing soming that is boring, hard or soming like that. You want to oid that pain.
But after hing some experience with procrastination you’ll probably realise that procrastination itself causes your more pain than actually just doing what you were suped to. Realising the true amount of pain in the two chos will make it easier to get things done.
2. Force yourself to do it before yoeally absoluy he do it…
…and your self-esteem will go up. And the next time you feel like procrastinating remember that you forced yourself, but that you felt better when it was done. There was a n reward when you were done. Whenr you feel like procrastinating remember this to get you to start moving forward.
3. Create a flow
Instead of doing nothing, begin with doing soming. Clean your desk, take out the garbage, wash the dishes. Just stack a couple of actions to create a flow, a momentum. When you’re in the flow, in that forward motion, getting started with what you he to do will be much easier. Also, cleaning up can get you too feel more motivated. A messy work-environment seems to often rerce procrastination.
4. Get some lrage
Sometimes we procrastinate on things that aren’t just dull tasks in the off or school. Maybe you are stuck, not able to take the next step fearing some deep personal pain. If you are thinking about changing jobs or career or taking a next step in a relationship you are probably focusing on what could go wrong. Instead, get some lrage to both push and pull yourself forward.
How to: Take a pen and a piece of . Write down as many things as you can e up with that you will miss out on, not just now but the next few years if you don’t take this step now. Really dig down into yourself and feel that pain that you will feel not just tomorrow but in a year and the next five or ten years.
Then write down all itive and wonderful things you will experience if you take this decision and move forward to where you want to go. Think about them and write down all those things you will experience and feel, not just in the next few days but in one year, in two, in five years or ten. Get the stick and the carrot to work for you. And put the problem in a longer time perspective to really give it an emotional punch.
5. How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time…
Don’t look at rything you he to do. One of the mon sources of procrastination is feeling overwhelmed. Break it down into aller tasks. Write them down as a list on a piece of . Focus on just getting that one all task or part of the big thing done. Then move on to the next. Take it one step at a time and don’t think about the rest. Before you know it you’ll be half way there.
6. Change your beliefs
The problems that repeatedly put you into a procrastinating state might disappear if you change your view on reality. Examine your beliefs. Ask yourself if you could see things in a more beneficial and effective way for yourself.
Realise you can choose you beliefs about yourself and the world. The past is not the future. You don’t he to hang to limiting beliefs based on past experiences if you don’t want to. You are here right now and you choose and can change your habits.
7. Make a all deal with yourself
Here is an effective one I first heard from Ed Bliss well, actually now that I think about it I probably first heard it from a teacher back in school about ten years ago. It kinda rings a bell.
Here’s how you go about it: Promise yourself that you’ll work on soming for just 5 minutes. After those 5 minutes you can do soming else if you want to. But make a note on your schedule when you will e back to the task and work another 5 minutes with it. As Bliss notes, not matter how unpleasant a task may be, you can often talk yourself into working 5 minutes on it. I’ve found this one to be effective to make a dent in those tasks you he put of for a longer while. After you’re done with those first 5 minutes the next 5 minutes will feel a little easier. And after that the next 5 minutes will feel n easier. Or maybe yoaise the bar to 10 minutes of work. Getting some actual work done on that task, if only for 5 minutes, gives you a rush of exhilaration. Making a out of how much work you can get done in those 5 minutes can also be a all but in its own way fun challenge.

My new friend Jack is a fashion follower who often wears strange clothes and long hair. But my mother drove him away from our flat at the first sight yesterday. She thought he was a bad person, although she didn't know him at all.
Howr, mom totally changed her mind this morning. When we were walking down the street near our home, we witnessed an accident. A boy was hit by a car when he was walking across the road with headphones. Many people saw it, but at first no one knew how to . Then someone rushed forwards and covered the boy with his coat to keep warm. He looked after him well until the ambulance came. It was Jack! His calmness and seasoned first aid skills moved mom. She went and apologized to Jack for her former attitute, and told him that he was always welcome to our home.
That gives me a lesson. The appearance may reflect one's interest, but it isn't the symbol of one's quality. We should nr judge a book with its cover.
