二烧机头电除尘于2009年进行改造。原厂地有限，只有原除尘器东侧新建1台除尘器的位置，另1台需在拆除原除尘位置新建。由于烧结机头电除尘是在线生产设备，为减少影响生产时间。施工方案：在东侧空地新建1台除尘器，待此台除尘器建成后次接点将东台烟道接于此台除尘。拆除原东台除尘器再新建另1台除尘器，待此台除尘器建成后，第二次接点将西侧烟道接于此台新建的除尘器，二烧机头电除尘器于2009年末完成，除尘器设计排放浓度为50mg/m3。二烧、三烧机头电除尘在生产正常情况下可满足新标准。但西烧、新烧排放不能满足新标准要求。 国内、国外烧结机头烟气净化全部采用电除尘器，新标准要求排放低于50mg/m3，这是目前机头电除尘很难达到的，虽然电除尘增加为4电场，但是烧结机头电除尘受工艺影响温度、湿度、比电阻在波动，烧结机头电除尘的排放也在波动，尤其是烧结生产波动、烧结机开停机等情况。目前全国的烧结机有一半以上已完成烟气脱硫，即烟气中粉尘经过电除尘器后又经过脱硫工艺进一步处理，外排烟气完全可满足新的排放标准。根据“十一五”减排规划要求，炼铁总厂从2009年开始采用丹麦的旋转喷雾半干法脱硫工艺，陆续完成6台烧结机的烟气脱硫设施，经过脱硫布袋粉尘排放≤30mg/m3，现炼铁总厂6台烧结机头粉尘排放完全满足新标准要求。烧结机尾粉尘治理措施为满足新标准30mg/m3的要求，可对现有电除尘器进行增容改造：一是增大流通面积，使电场风速降低，延长烟气介质在除尘器内的停留时间，这相当于将现有除尘器全部拆除，在原基础上加宽、加高；二是增加电场数量，原除尘保留，在原进口或出口喇叭口拆除增加到4、5个电场，从而增加电场的收尘板面积，延长烟气在电场中停留的时间，以提高除尘效率；另一种方案是电改袋方案：保留原电除尘基础、壳体、灰斗、喇叭口及输灰系统，只将原电场的板线、振打系统全部拆除，重新制作上箱体安装布袋，但由于布袋除尘增加的阻力，需将原电机进行增容。上述方案从运行的稳定性、效果、投资、工期、场地等综合考虑，电改袋方案。
